Make your documents password protected

If you are a person use a computer in your office, and if you often deal with very important documents, there are chances that some unauthorized can access those documents. To avoid this you can make your documents password protected so that no one can open or modify your documents except yourself.

1. You can use two types of password, one is for opening the documents and the other for modifying the document.Note that you can have a unique password for each and every document.

2. First open your document, Click on the file menu and again click on the "save as" and now the "save as" dialog box will open.

3. From the drop-down menu click on "General Options"

4. Enter the first password in "password to open" text box and the second password in "password to modify" text box. Now confirm both the passwords.

5. Without the password, no one can open the document. so don't forget your password.

6. Now hit on the "save" button in save as dialog box. Now the the task is completed.

Making Office 2003 compatible for opening Office 2007 files

Converting word documents into pdf

You can see a lot of junks in the web for converting your word documents into pdf. I know that you are not satisfied with those. You will never get the exact replica of your word document in pdf format. Let us see how to make that conversion task very easier. But one thing, this works only with Office 2007 package

Getting rid of User Account Control(UAC) in Windows Vista

The popping up of "User Account Control"(UAC) does really annoys every one. let us discuss about the simple trick that will disable the UAC.

1. Open the control panel and type UAC in the search box.

2. Now you can see the link to “Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off”.













3. Click on that link. on the next window you will have an option to turn UAC ON or OFF.














4. UN check " use user account control (UAC) to help protect to your computer" and click on OK

5. Now the task is completed. This annoying thing will never pop up here after.

6. If you want turn on the UAC gain, just repeat the afore mentioned steps and check " use user account control (UAC) to help protect to your computer".

A small trick to disable autoplay option

Hi visitors,Do u often get irritated, whenever you insert a CD or a flash drive. Here is a simple solution to get rid of that. Don't worry can roll back to the original settings if you want the auto play option again.

1. Go to the start button, run and type "gpedit.msc" (without the quotes). Now hit the enter key

2. A window will pop up like the one displayed below. In that window you can see a very big list

3. Can you see a group policy window. expand the administrative templates tree and again expand the "system" tree.

4. Now on the right side of the window you can see " turn off auto play". After clicking on that a window will pop up like the one shown below

5. Check on the disabled radio button. Now the mission is accomplished.

6. Good, now your are free from that devil..

Automatic login for XP and Vista

Are you the one tired of logging in every time after booting up the computer. Here is a simple trick to eliminate the login process.

1. Click on the "start" button and after that click on "run" (In vista type RUN in the search bar present in the start menu n you will find the "run" button listed)

2. Type the following "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes) and hit enter.

3. Now a window will popup like the one displayed below.


4. Uncheck the box (highlighted in the above picture) and click on OK button.

5. Now you will be shown a password dialog box for the current user.

6. Reboot your computer and now you can login automatically.

assigning keyboard multimedia buttons for winamp

Do you often use winamp for playing audio files in your computer. Here are the few stops to assign the multimedia keys present in your keyboard work for winamp operations.

In most of the versions, this option is enabled by default. If it is not working for yours, here is the solution

1.Open the winamp and do a single left click on the options button located in the top left corner of the window ( Displayed in the picture below)



2. Now open the preferences and click on the "global hot keys" button in the right side of the preferences window (refer the picture present below) and check the "enabled" button.
